Graphic 45 Design Team Audition 2016

So it's that awesome time of the year when Graphic 45 has their design team auditions!

So my name is Altina Robinson, and I am 24 years old from Springfield, MO.
I was introduced to Graphic 45 when I was I believe 16, and the Steampunk Debutante collection was phasing out (I have both the 12x12 and the 8x8 in my stash.)

I have been into arts and crafts since I was a little kid, and was introduced to paper crafting when I was about 15. It started out with scrapbooking, which turned into card making, which turned into art journaling, and well, you get the point.


So for my first project I found a Tim Holtz mini clipboard at Michaels and knew I HAD to do something with it. So for this project I used the new Voyage Beneath the Sea collection.
I love this collection ( I LOVE steampunk) and I love all the bright colors.

For my second project I made a birthday card with Botanical Tea for a friend.
I am a bit obsessive about my scraps, so I have them all organized by collection.
The great thing about this card is I used only scraps for it.

One of my biggest hobbies is going to flea markets and thrift stores looking for things I can up cycle.
One of the first things I ever fixed up was on old bulletin board using the couture collection.

I also love going because I collect old bottles. I have collected several unique ones, a vintage IV bottle, an old Clorox bleach bottle that where the bleach dried its opalescent on the inside, and an old Watkins Vanilla bottle just to name a few.

I recently collected a few more from the antique stores on C-Street in Springfield. If you ever have the chance to come to Springfield, I highly suggest visiting historic C-Street. There are some pretty cool shops, and some great restaurants (I HIGHLY recommend Cafe Cusco.)

So for these bottles I got, I used a Seven Gypsies library drawers to make a holder for some of these new bottles. While I was working on it, I decided to cut out some labels for the bottles, and I LOVE how it turned out.

So lastly, I have my tutorial! Another thing besides looking thru thrift stores and flea markets, is looking thru the clearance racks at places like Hobby Lobby or Michaels for things to fix up. One of the great things about up cycling, is you can fix things at that have places chipped off, or cracked pretty easy!

So for my tutorial I used a set of three wall hangings that I found on the clearance rack at our local At Home store. This place if you don't have one, is like the home section of Hobby Lobby on steroids.
