Graphic 45 Design Team Audition-Round 2

Making round two has been an absolute dream come true. I have had the biggest smile plastered across my face from the very moment I found out.

 For round two I decided to make three projects that represented me as a designer. For this I choose two altered projects and a card.


 For my first project I was inspired to do an altered bottle after watching the movie Snow White. I am a HUGE Disney fan so Disney movies are heavy in the rotation when I put in a movie while I craft. I was inspired by the scene where the evil queen is mixing up her poison and you see all the bottles, melted candles, and cobwebs everywhere. Since I collect old bottles this felt like the perfect fit for me.

I painted the inside of the bottle using a mix of blue and black paint. I have painted the inside of bottles before, but let me tell you this was an experience! I normally just water down a little paint and then pour it inside and it works like a charm. This however did not. When I awoke the next morning all the paint had settled in the bottom of the bottle, leaving the sides in a thin tinted layer of paint. I actually liked it better than what I had intended! Happy crafting accident for me! I decorated the bottle using Eerie Tale.

For project number two I decided to fix up something in my thrift store stash. Whenever I go thrifting I buy things I might like to fix up later, and keep them stashed until I am ready for them.

For this one I used the Mon Amour paper. I got the idea for this when flipping thru the papers and I saw the photo of the gentleman and just thought of how perfect it would be in a frame! I had a Prima one in my stash, and the idea just kinda snowballed from there. I used some antiques from my personal collection, and the rings on the top are a priceless family heirloom that I was loaned to use in the photo. I made the roses from the paper, and the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die.

For my last project I decided to make a card. I knew right away that I wanted to use the Steampunk Debutante paper. For me this was a nod to what introduced me to Graphic 45. I was learning how to make mini albums and was watching a video in which that paper line was used. I saw it and immediately knew I had to have it. I managed to find a 12x12 and an 8x8, both of which are still in my collection. For this card I decided to use some of the 8x8 paper, and I must say this is one of my favorite things I have ever done.
